Schiacciata

Tuscan version of Italian pizza-style flat bread...adapted from The Bread and Bread Machine Bible

This is probably the first bread that was more edible than others.

Ingredients:
3 cups of bread flour
1/2 tsp salt
1 packet of yeast
4 tbsp of olive oil
1 cup of lukewarm water
Instead of rosemary,  dried parsley was used.

I think I didn't need enough as I was still exploring at that point in time,  a good way to put the dough together.  I was not even sure what it meant by hydration,  and therefore,  I just follow the instructions.

Surprising,  it turn out to be as it looks in the book.  But I think I didn't let it proof enough as the condition of my kitchen was cold, as it is winter. I don't have a thermometer to measure the temperature.  I relied on my hands to test whether my oven,  the water is warm enough.

It's probably a good attempt.  This is where it started,  spurring me on to try for more.
